At 3:23 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, a wreck occurred at the intersection of White Avenue and Main Street.
According to the report from the Henderson Police Department, 54–year-old Christopher Zamora was traveling west on East Main Street in a 2006 silver GMC truck as he approached the stop light at East Main and White Avenue when he blacked out.
Zamora’s vehicle continued to travel over the curb and sidewalk and into a black 2017 Hyundai driven by 45-year-old Russell Turner who was slowing to make a left from White Ave. onto East Main St. After Zamora’s GMC struck Turner’s vehicle head-on, it continued to travel over White Ave. into the grass then rolled backwards across White Ave. and East Main St. where it struck a brick column at Freed-Hardeman University.
Turner’s Hyundai spun around and then rolled backwards into a fire hydrant and stopped. No damage to the fire hydrant was seen.
HPD said Zamora had a suspected minor injury, and Turner had a possible injury.
