Helena Maria Lamberta Vandyk Vanderheyden passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A Memorial service was held for her on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She was born in Mill, North Brabant, Holland on May 14, 1933 to Leonard and Johanna Vandyk. She had 13 brothers and sisters.  The family immigrated to Canada together in 1952.
She married Peter Vanderheyden of Aylmer, Canada, on May 14, 1955, and they celebrated their 64th anniversary this year.  They moved to West Tennessee in 1982 and settled near Chickasaw State Park in 1994. They had six children.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 28, 1967. Her life was centered around her faith. She loved the ministry, especially cart witnessing at the local grocery store. Her hope for the resurrection was strong and she looked forward to reuniting with her lost loved ones on a paradise earth (John 5:28, 29) She always put others before herself and was a loving and kind person who was a joy to be around. She was unfailingly positive.
She is survived by her son, Herman; his daughter, Serena (Jeff) and their children, Madison, Halee and Caden; former daughter-in-law, Deb (Mark); son, Dave (Cheri) and their children, Carly and Seth; son, Tim (Ginger), and their daughters, Kaely (Nick) and Nikki (Clayton) and their son, Reed, and Lindsey (Nick); and son Ron’s daughter, Charlotte, and her children.
She was predeceased by three children, Joseph, Ron and Angela; one grandson, Josh; and three great-grandchildren, Ayla, Harper and Graham.
