Hello to everyone! It is me again, giving God the praise to be here with you one more week. First things first, thank you, Lord, for another week and a new day – one that we have never seen before. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
On Saturday, June 24, there was a great party going on in Jackson! Guess who is the sexy 60? His wife and children did an excellent job giving him a surprise birthday party! It was very elegant and beautiful; the colors were gold, black, white and blue. There was a DJ, the money cake was very unique and the food was phenomenal! There was mac and cheese, green beans, fried fish and grilled chicken; there was so much food I cannot name it all! Let me not forget to mention the dessert table! There was the birthday cake, chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes and more! I know 75 or more people attended. This young man lives in Henderson and works for the school system, and I have seen him driving the school bus. The city of Henderson and your family hope Mr. Todd Davis enjoyed his surprise birthday party. We pray the Lord will bless you with many more! There is nothing like family love!
Now the month of June is almost gone, and July will be making its arrival! The month of July marks the midway point of the year. It is also considered a month of fun! It is a favored month to take a vacation and spend time with family. If you are a person who likes to send cards and have fun, July is your month. July 1 is International Joke Day and National Postal Worker Day; go head an make someone laugh and tell your postal person how much you appreciate them. July 2 is National I Forgot Day, so remember to celebrate! July 3 is International Plastic Bag Free Day, National Stay Out of the Sun Day and National Eat Beans Day. YES! I love any type of beans! July 4 is, of course, Independence Day. National Bikini Day and National Workaholic Day are on July 5, and International Kissing Day and National Fried Chicken Day are July 6. Go ahead eat a piece chicken and kiss the person you love! July 7 is Global Forgiveness Day and World Chocolate Day. Forgive someone and give them some chocolate, and July 8 is National Video Game Day. Next week, I will have some more days to celebrate for the month of July if I can remember!
On the Fourth of July some will celebrate the 247th birthday for America. Have fun on the Fourth of July but also remember to practice safety with the fireworks!
Well, another year has gone by, and who will be 72 years young on July 2? Let me tell you. He served his country for 20 years in the USMC, and he returned to Henderson after retiring from the Marine Corps; he loves people, he loves to talk and he loves his family. He was voted as a best school bus drivers here in Chester County! Yes! It is Mr. Henry “Larry” Brown, my BIG brother! Happy birthday from all of your sisters and brothers. We love you!
For the birthday list this week, the City would like to wish Sylvia Jones Jonson and Henrietta Kellum Lusk a Happy Birthday on July 5! I pray the Lord will bless you with many more.
On the prayer list this week: the Chester County community. Let us continue to pray for our country, our soldiers, our police officers and anyone you know that needs prayers.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you.
