Hello to everyone! It is good to be here with you one more time. For this is the day the Lord has made, so let us be happy in it and take things one day at a time. Since the last time we were together, my family and I had wonderful time on July 3 and 4 celebrating LaWanna’s birthday with her big brother Frank, his wife Raffla, one of her big sisters Dannette, her husband Josh, her aunt Audria, her uncle Larry and her uncle Darrin. Of course, we played games. You know we are a very competitive family! It was lots of fun. We had balloons but no cake. LaWanna wanted one of my homemade pecan pies, and you already know that I made my 36 year old baby her favorite pie. We celebrated by giving the Lord praise for allowing our daughter, sister and niece to be here with us to celebrate another birthday day! LaWanna is very appreciative for all of the texts and phone calls! Lord, we thank you!
The City would like to take this time out to say, “Thank you, Southwest Human Resource Agency, for another outstanding job this year with the Summer Food Service Program.” SFSP ensures that children continue to receive nutritious meals while school is not in session. Amie Croom and her staff have gone above and beyond the call of duty again this year. For some of our children, this could be the only meal they receive. If you are interested and want more information about the summer food program, please give Amie a call at 989-5111. Amie, thank you for feeding so many of our children this summer.
Last week was a very busy week for SWHRA Head Start department. Have you been yet? I am talking about our Henderson Farmers Market! It is open from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday. If you like fresh fruit, vegetables and much more, you can pick it up there. I can remember when it started back in 2016. Congratulations! The meaning of number seven in scripture symbolizes completion, fullness or perfection. Steve, thank you for the vision and for sharing it with us! Stop by Gene Record Park under the Farmers Market Pavilion and purchase what you need.
Condolences go to the family of Coady Massengill, the son of Matilda Massengill and the late Michael Williams. Coady fought a long battle! May God’s peace be with you. Cherish the memories you created down through the years, and Coady will never be forgotten.
Happy Birthday to one of the sweetest, kindhearted and most caring educators I know. This lady is always the same no matter where she is. Even on the days when she does not feel her best, if I see her, she has a smile on her face! Yes, you may know her as well. Ms. Linda Patterson will celebrate her birthday on 7/12. The city of Henderson wishes you a Happy Birthday! We pray you will have many more! Thank you for your service!
On July 18, someone is celebrating her 13th birthday. Desaraye Genesy, your Nana (Vivian), mother (Eboni Burton), Destyn, Danyelle, and great-grandparents (John and Lillia Cawthon) want to wish you a happy birthday. They love you very much! Enjoy your special day, and we pray you will have many more! Thirteen is such a blessed birthday!
On the prayer list is the Massengill family. Continue to pray for the sick and shut-in, our children, teachers and families, the men and women that are serving our country and the incarcerated.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
