Henderson Utility Department wins Region 11 Best Tasting Water Contest

Henderson Utility Department was recently named the winner of the Region 11 Best Tasting Water Contest sponsored by the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (TAUD).
TAUD Region 11 consists of: Chester, Fayette, Hardeman, Henderson, Madison, McNairy, Shelby and Tipton counties.
In addition to Henderson Utility Department, the additional participating utilities were First Utility District of Tipton County, Atoka Water System, Germantown Water System, Lexington Utilities and Munford Utilities.
Participating as judges for the competition were Steve Bowers of Talk Radio 101.5 FM, TN State Representative Chris Todd and Justin Avent of Gresham Smith. The drinking water samples were judged on their clarity, bouquet and taste.
This spring, TAUD will conduct the Best Tasting Water in Tennessee Contest in each of its eleven regions. Each regional winner will compete at TAUD’s 2022 Annual Business Conference at the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Thursday, Aug. 11. The statewide winner will represent TAUD at the National Rural Water Association’s Great American Taste Test held in conjunction with the Rural Water Rally in February 2023.
