HILDA BAILEY Obituary – Nov. 3, 1935 – June 7, 2020

Hilda Jeanette Gholson Bailey, 84, of Oakfield died early Sunday morning, June 7, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Oakfield.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Pastor Carlos Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery at Jacks Creek. The family received friends at East Main Chapel from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
She was born Nov. 3, 1935 in Bloomfield, Ind., the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Wilma Pearson Gholson. She attended Steele’s private school in Jackson and graduated Nursing School at McKellar in Jackson. She married Curtis B. Bailey in 1950. They made their home at Oakfield.
She was an LPN at Jackson General Hospital, having worked in several departments for 24 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of Northside Pentecostal Church in Jackson and recently attended Spirit of Truth Outreach New Covenant Church with her sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam (Donnie) Hickman of Oakfield and Cathy Bailey of Jackson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Gholson and Jerry Gholson both of Bloomfield, Ind.; two sisters, Shirley Bailey of Huron and Nina Hausperberg of North Vernon, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis B. Bailey (2017); a son, Curtis Mike Bailey, (2016); and two brothers, Kenny Gholson and Larry Gholson.
