Holman among MTSU College of Behavioral
and Health Sciences senior Honors Students

The Middle Tennessee State University College of Behavioral and Health Sciences annual Academic Awards Presentation was held April 23 in the Student Union Ballroom. Nearly 200 seniors were spotlighted as Honors Students, which requires a scholastic average between 3.75 and 4.0. Representatives from the Departments of Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice Administration and Health and Human Performance presented certificates to students for their academic excellence.
Kennedy Holman of Henderson was among the honorees.
The College of Behavioral and Health Sciences at MTSU is an alliance of disciplines that educate students to serve the physical, mental, and behavioral health needs. There are seven departments and more than 40 academic programs. CBHS has more than 33,000 alumni, making it the largest alumni base of any college at MTSU. Vest recognized at UT Martin Honors Day

The University of Tennessee at Martin held its annual Honors Day Ceremony on April 14 to recognize students who excel as scholars and leaders. Austin Vest, of Enville, received the Outstanding Chemistry and Physics Student Award. This award is given to an outstanding senior chemistry major selected by the faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Physics. For more information about UT Martin, visit www.utm.edu.

Adkins named to NEMCC Vice President’s List

Four hundred and eleven Northeast Mississippi Community College students achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5-3.9 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024 Spring semester and, as a result, have been named to the college’s distinguished Vice President’s List.
Included in the 411-person list of students who qualified for the spring 2024 Vice President’s List at Northeast Mississippi Community College was Brooke Haven Adkins of Henderson.
Included in the list are representatives from 80 different cities, towns and communities across the United States of America: 392 Vice President’s List scholars are from Mississippi, nine are from Alabama, eight hail from Tennessee, one is from Georgia and one is from Johannesburg, South Africa. Three hundred and fifteen scholars came from the college’s five-county service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties, while 96 were from outside the service area.
Overall, 677 individuals were either named to the President’s List or the Vice President’s List at Northeast for the 2024 fall semester. Six hundred and forty-four are from the Magnolia State, 19 live in Tennessee, and 12 are from Alabama, while Georgia and Johannesburg, South Africa each had a representative on the honor rolls. Of the 677 students making either the President’s or Vice President’s lists at Northeast, 520 reside within the college’s five-county service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties.
In total, Northeast’s sphere of influence touched 91 different cities, towns and communities across the United States of America and South Africa, with scholars hailing from five different states and or countries.
