The Henderson Police Department executed a search warrant at The Market, located at 677 East Main St., on Thursday, July 11, 2024. According to a release from HPD, officers were following up after an extensive undercover investigation.
The HPD reportedly had received prior complaints of possible illegal electronic gambling devices inside the business, the release continued. Over the course of the investigation, investigators established probable cause for the search warrant.
Officers seized five electronic gambling machines and other evidence during the search.
“Although some forms of gambling may be legal in Tennessee, such as lottery tickets, electronic gaming machines are not,” stated Chief of Police Gary Davidson.
No charges have been filed. This investigation is active and ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.
