The Ingleside-Pentagon Club met on Nov. 21 in the Henderson Church of Christ Fellowship Hall for their monthly meeting. Hostesses were Mary Ann Guinn and Toni Hardin. Members present were Lisa Beene, Christine Carroll, Becky Cyr, Janice Kent, Nancy Smith, Kay Tignor, Spring McCutchen and Kathy Powell. The program was presented by Tammy Hausmann owner of Germantown Harvest Gardens along with business partner Pam Beasley. The business offers services to help with an existing garden or start-to-finish garden designs. Coaching sessions are available and include DIY garden projects, plant selection, general advice, and troubleshooting problems with soil, pests, disease or irrigation. Germantown Harvest Gardens specializes in designing and installing raised bed gardens. Custom designs include formal Kitchen Gardens, Specialty Cut Flower Gardens, Native Plant Gardens or a combination of all three. Tammy uses containers for gardening because they are easier, faster and instant. A container garden requires a combination of color, potsize ratio, plant placement, and choosing plants with the same watering needs. The presentation was concluded with plant recipes for containers. After the program, refreshments were served. Toni Hardin conducted the business part of the meeting and read the club creeds. The next meeting will be Jan. 16, 2025.
