Betty Jacqueline Pentecost Lott, 81, of Henderson passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Shakelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with burial following at the Montezuma Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m Sunday, Oct. 8.
She was born June 8, 1942 and raised in the Mercer community. She was the daughter of Idella Overton Pentecost and Luther M. (Jack) Pentecost. She was a graduate of South Side High School and married Wayne Lott in 1961.
They made their home in Jackson, moved to Corinth, Miss., in 1972 and then settled in Henderson in 1975.
She worked in the banking business in Jackson with First American Bank and later Regions Bank.
She was known for being a very caring person who sent greeting cards for every occasion. She was always dressed perfectly with makeup and nail polish.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wayne Lott; a brother, John Pentecost, of Ohio; one son, David (Elizabeth) Lott of McKenzie; a daughter Lisa (Scott) Whaley of Henderson; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Whaley, Anna Whaley, Holly (Travis) Ward and Ben (Morgan) Lott; and great-grandchildren, Ava Kate, Titus, Andy, Charlie and Sonny.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
