James “Jimmy” Teague Obituary – Sept. 20, 1936 – April 25, 2022

Jimmy Teague passed away peacefully at his home in Jackson on April 25, 2022 surrounded by family. Funeral services were held April 29, 2022 at Lawrence-Sorenson Funeral Home with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 20, 1936 in Memphis to the late J. B. and Ruth Smith Teague. His family moved to Jackson when he was seven years old. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1955 and attended Lambuth College before going to work at Teague Oil Company in Jackson. The company later moved to Henderson where he and brother Jerry Teague co-owned Teague Oil Company for many years. He married Doris Jean Robinson in 1958, making their home in Jackson where they raised three sons, Jeff, Andy and Sam Teague.
He and Doris were active members of Malesus Methodist Church working with the Youth. He was also, a member of the Jaycees. He loved to duck hunt and fish with his boys. He and Doris loved entertaining friends at their home, and he always met company with a smile. He had such a happy personality and will be extremely missed.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Kim) Teague of Hendeson, Andy (Tonjua) Teague of South Carolina and Sam Teague of Pickwick; brothers, Sam G. Teague of Jackson and David (Candy) Teague of Brownsville; sisters, JoRica (Ted) Moore of Waverly and Patsy (Bobby) Markum of Paris; sister-in-law, Ruth Neal Teague of Selmer; grandchildren, Lindsay (David) Owens, Ripley (Dane) Owens, Tyler (Trenity) Teague, David Dexter and Elizabeth (Matthew) Nelson; special lifelong friends, Joe and Sandra Fielding of Mercer; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Teague; brother, Jerry Teague; stepmother, Joyce Teague Patton; and nephew, James Bennet Teague.
