Jerry Wayne Davidson, 82, of Henderson passed away March 4, 2023, at his home. Graveside services were 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Cave Springs Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel from noon-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
He was born Feb. 12, 1941, in Henderson, the son of the late Joel Erma and Ethel Mae Cupples Davidson. He attended Phillips School in Chester County. He married Diane Hall on Dec. 17, 1961. They made their home in Henderson.
He was a barber for 20 years and then went to work for Reason’s Construction for many years before retiring in 2012. He enjoyed antiquing, was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed canoeing the Buffalo and Current Rivers. He was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Hall Davidson of Henderson; a son, Steve Davidson of Henderson; three grandchildren, Braden, Ashley and Alexis; two great-grandchildren, Drew and Bailey; three brothers, Glenn Davidson, Willie Davidson and Aaron Davidson; and three sisters, Nancy Parrish, Sherry Newman and Kay Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Davidson in 2009; one brother, Roy Davidson; and two sisters, Nina Ruth Clausel and Doris Jean Davidson Holiday.
