Jerry Ray Mullins charged with second degree murder in Chester County

Jerry Ray Mullins, 46, of Finger, was formally charged with second degree murder last Friday, in the shooting death of 42-year-old Samantha Melendez.
On Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, the Chester County Sheriff’s Department, joined by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, responded to a home in the 4600 block of Old Friendship Road in Finger, where Melendez had been fatally shot.
According to TBI, during the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers identified Mullins as the individual responsible for Melendez’s death.
Mullins is being held at the Chester County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Chester County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.
