Jimmy Clay Young, 65, of Bon Aqua, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 19, from the Walnut Street Church of Christ with Bro. Steve Baggett and Dr. Bryan McAlister officiating, and Frank Bradford had prayer.
There was no public visitation prior to services. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, his family requests that a memorial donation be made to “The Ginger Harris Young Endowment Scholarship” at Freed-Hardeman University to assist students majoring in special education at the university. He was born to Harold and Norma Young Sept. 27, 1955. He and his sister Carol were raised in Nashville, and he graduated from Antioch High School. He attended Lipscomb University and Freed-Hardeman University.
He loved his church family at Walnut Street Church of Christ where he enjoyed leading singing. He retired from management in the marketing and advertising field.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Keef) Young (married March 2020) of Dickson; a son, Will (Andrea) Young of Florence, Ala.; one daughter, Leah (Eric) Gott of Pelham, Ala.; a sister, Carol (David) White Greenbrier; grandchildren, Ella and Emmaline Young; four foster children of Leah and Eric Gott; one step-son, Charlie (fiancé Lauren Sansing) of Wert Pensacola, Fla.; a step-daughter,  Cissy (Bob) Williams of Dickson; step-grandchildren, Kara (Peyton) Montgomery, Ethan Wert, Jack Wert, Drew Williams and Allyson Williams; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Norma Young of Nashville, and his first wife, Ginger Daneen Young.
