Joanie Lynn Lowery, 63, of Henderson passed away May 24, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with burial in Bethel Cemetery.
She was born March 24, 1959 in Jackson, the daughter of the late Jimmy Glen and Dorothy Jean Ligon Cupples.
She grew up in Henderson and was a 1977 graduate of Chester County High School. She married Richard Lowery on Feb. 22, 2008. They made their home in Henderson.
She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker and she loved her dogs, and they were like her children; several had preceded her, but her beloved “Oldie” survives. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, she was a talented artist.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Lowery of Henderson; a stepson, Jason Lowery of Augusta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Amy (Jason) Smith of Evans, Ga., and Barbara (Gordon) Williams of Canton, Ga.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Toby (Charlotte) Cupples of Henderson; and two sisters, Sandy (Dennis) Fesmire of Lexington and Joby (Kenneth) Ralls of Finger.
