KATHY BUSBY Obituary – Jan. 11, 1944 – Jan. 4, 2023

Kathy Odessa Busby, 78, of Henderson passed away Jan. 4, 2023 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ricky Tedford officiating. Burial followed at Sweetlips Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday.
She was born Jan. 11, 1944 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Bonnie Cortella Maness. She grew up in the Glendale Community and attended Chester County High School.
She married Billy Busby on Nov. 14, 1959. They made their home in the Sweetlips Community of Chester County. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2015.
She drove a school bus for Chester County Schools for 20 years and worked for Lee Jean Company in Jackson for 13 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed gardening and riding her four-wheeler. She was well known for growing pumpkins, watermelons and cantaloupes. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Sweetlips Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Jason Busby of Henderson; two daughters, Pamela (Gary) Pickett of Henderson and Amy (Ricky) Morrison of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Morgan (Will) Pickett Smith, Seneca (Blake) Deck, Cody (Robin) Busby, Duran Pickett, Dakota (Marissa) Deck, Nathan (Sarah) Pickett and Savannah (Eduardo) Recinos; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruby Sue (Charlie) Malone of Henderson, Dorothy Miller of Henderson and Martha (Carlos Schmitt) Bishop of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Rebecca Wallace and Bonnie Ann Walker; and two brothers, Randolph Maness and Kenneth Maness.
