Fairview approached with an aggressive defense to counter Chester County’s offense. The Lady Eagles added the first tally to the scoreboard with a successful kick by no. 22 Ellie Kate Knoell.
The Lady Yellowjackets gained possession after a Lady Eagles throw in. The Lady Eagles made attempts to score, their kicks landing shy of the goal. The second half started a bit rocky for the Lady Eagles as Fairview took to the field with determination. They fought to score at every chance, increasing the score to 2 and 1 within the first five minutes of second-half play.
Lady Eagles goalie Cameron Pickett worked hard to block Fairview’s attempts, but another kick reached the net, bringing the score to 3 and 1.
With another attempt by the Lady Eagles and another score by the Lady Yellowjackets, the score increased to 4 and 1. When the final whistle blew, Fairview had won with a final score of 6-1, and ending the season for Chester County.
The Lady Eagles put in the work this season, claiming the District Tournament win Oct. 10.
“I’m very pleased with our season this year,” said Coach Jason Judd. “We obviously didn’t go as far as we wanted to and it’s always disappointing when your season ends before you want it to. We had six awesome seniors providing leadership this year and each will be greatly missed. Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way.”
