LARRY WHITMAN Obituary – MAY 21, 1944 – July 22, 2021

Larry Brooks Whitman, 77, of Enville passed away July 22, 2021 at his home. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial was in Cave Springs Cemetery.
He was born May 21, 1944 in the Woodville Community of McNairy County, the son of the late Odie and Lela Brooks Whitman. He grew up in Chester County. He married Sandra Paulette Smith on Jan. 20, 1961, and they made their home in the Haltom’s Chapel Community of Chester County. He drove a school bus for Chester County Schools for close to 40 years. He also cut timber and hauled logs during those years. He even hauled logs with mules.
He enjoyed coon hunting, horse riding, camping and estate sales.  
He is survived by a daughter, Kim Robbins of Enville; two grandchildren, Shelley (John) Grisham and Josh Robbins; three great-grandchildren, Taylee, River and Lincoln Grisham; and three sisters, Linda Gilchrist of Bartlett, Doris Hughes of Bartlett and Barbara Johnston of Germantown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paulette Whitman on Aug. 21, 2020, after 58 years of marriage; a son-in-law, Matt Robbins; and three brothers, DeWayne Whitman, Bill Whitman and Harold Whitman.
