On Friday Nov. 22, Leslie McMahan signed with Blue Mountain College to play softball. She will be a catcher for the team. Chester County Head Coach Brandon Pipkin and Blue Mountain Softball Assistant Coach Daniel Rowland mentioned how she has a lot of great qualities that will make her successful at Blue Mountain.
“She looks adversity straight in the face and doesn’t give up,” Pipkin said.
“She’s probably been at the lowest of the lows but now she’s at the highest of the highs in softball. It doesn’t get any better than this.”
“Once we had Leslie on campus we saw a lot of great qualities; not just on the field but off the field,” said Rowland. “I think she’ going to bring big-time leadership qualities to the team to help us build a future; even more so than the success we had last year.”
Her parents Nicole Pomeroy and Rex McMahan expressed how excited they are for her future.
“There’s a lot of years’ worth of work going into this,” Rex McMahan said. “Blue Mountain’s a great college she’s going to be going to. She’s going to be going to a great academic school and I’m looking forward to that as much as I am softball. “
