Letter To The Editor – Christmas: A Gift for Every Heart

Dear Editor,
What does Christmas really mean to us? In the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is so easy to become distracted by all the trimmings and watching children looking for the nametags on presents to see which gift has his or her name on it.
Oh, what joy when the memories come flooding back as we encounter the sights of loved ones, sing the songs of cheer and gather around with each other.
Are we so relentless in our quest for the ultimate gift under the three that we unfortunately overlook the greatest and most perfect gift ever given to us for free? Christ.
True peace and joy are found only in Christ, not in the things of this chaotic world today. Christmas is a gloriously undeniable evidence that no matter what lies ahead for us today God keeps his promises. He said, “I’m with you. I haven’t left you. I’m here to stay. I’m not going anywhere.”
This is one beautiful lesson he tells us in the scriptures. God often uses the very difficulties we experience in our lives on order to achieve his truly wonderful objectives.
May this poem bring you comfort
“Peace” – “As the clouds float softly by, and winds so gently blow. There is shelter in the shadows and peace within our heart. As the sun sinks in the West, and rise in the East. There’s a calmness in the air as we wake thanking God for his care. In the Daylight hours he speaks softly to our hearts. He lets us know he’s with us and never to depart”
God bless the U.S.A. and Merry Christmas.

Sincerely,
Imogene Naylor
