Letter To The Editor: Spirit of Christmas

Dear Editor,
What does Christmas really mean to us other than memories of families gathering to open gifts? Watching children examine the gift tags, shaking boxes, trying to figure out what is in it. Then, we all gather around a Christmas meal, giving thanks for what we all have.
But after all of that wonderful day with families we love and friends, have we really forgot what Christmas is really about.
The greatest gift is when God gave us the Best Gift, His Son lying in a manger. That gift cost no one anything. It is free. A savior of peace, joy and fulfillment knowing him in our hearts, everlasting in Heaven with Him.
So, on Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Many go to church to listen about Jesus and sing many Christmas songs. Songs of angels being sung all over Bethlehem, a savior has been born. Our hearts are full of joy as we sing all of these songs.
“Silent Night.” “Come All Ye Faithful.” “Away in the Manger.” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.” “Go Tell It on the Mountain.” “Joy to the World.” “We Three Kings of Orient Are.” “Holy Night.” “The First Noel.” “What Child is This?” “Mary Did You Know?” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.” “Oh’ Little Town of Bethlehem.”
Merry Christmas.
