Who is my neighbor?

Dear Editor,
During this time of uncertainty, the question being asked by millions is, “Who is my Neighbor?” The solution seems simple if you look at St. Matthew 22:38b: “…Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” So plain, yet it seems to be so difficult for us as a people to grasp. No one wants to become a carrier nor be infected with COVID-19. So if I love myself, then this means I love my neighbor who is my brother or sister as myself. You will not want to be the cause of another’s pain or grief. Become responsible and think of others as yourself and do what is right.
Our priority is to let Christ into our hearts permanently, not just for a little while as a pandemic crisis is upon us. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide us with the steps of LOVE. As the Father loves us, let us love one another. “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s (obey the laws of the land) and unto God things that are God’s.”
Above all, as believers, the third key we should use is the key of intercessory prayer. If I love you and can not get to you in body, prayer can go and do more than just a visit. I love my neighbors enough to pray without ceasing for them. Distance is not a question for I can do it in my home anytime of the day or night knowing that God will hear and answer. Just as Cain asked the question, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” The answer is a resounding YES! Even to this day! For clarity, your neighbor is just not your immediate family, the families next door or those in your church or city or county or state or event country. If you are a human being, then your neighbor is everyone upon this sphere called Earth.
Finally, read and believe Psalms 91. Pray and take the Holy Communion as a family daily. For “In His hands He got the whole world… In His hands He got you and me Brother… In His hands got you and me Sister… He’s got the whole world in His hand.” God has not excluded anyone so let us not exclude anyone for they are our neighbors
Sincerely,
Juanita Clay
