To the Editor:
First, I want to commend James A. Webb for coming to the Holland Reunion with such a short notice on Saturday, July 21, at the Christ Community Church. It was a time of about 100 cousins and spouses celebrating our heritage with about 40 participating in the CD recording.
It was stated that my Dad, Melvin, had nine sons, but it should have been he had eight brothers, and these were the descendants of Eber and Sula Holland of the Beauty Hill community in McNairy County. Only one of these brothers is still with us, Perry E. Holland, who now resides in Savannah. He was present at the reunion, retelling the old stories of his brother’s actions. Also, it was mentioned that Ralph Holland had visited 200 countries in his missions work, but the real number is 102, and he continues.
Again, thank you, James, for coming on the short notice and thanks to the paper for the large spread and pictures.
