A Note from the Director – The Chester County Library has been fortunate enough to receive a grant to create a MakerSpace and STEAM Kits. A MakerSpace is an area in which juveniles can come to the library and create! We plan on having origami paper, craft supplies, and Strawbees. Strawbees are “bendy sticks” that can be used to create anything– cranes, robots, animals, and so much more. There will also be cue cards that can help jump start ideas with attendees. The STEAM kits are items that will be available for checkout. These will be kits that accompany a book and have an activity to complete.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Please be aware that we have had some recent policy changes. They are summarized below. Full copies are available in the library.
- Children eleven years and older may enter the library unaccompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for picking children up BEFORE closing. If there are any issues, the library director or library staff will contact a child’s parent or guardian
- Meeting rooms are no longer allowed to be used after hours. Meeting rooms can only be used within normal library hours.
What is the Book Club Reading? At noon on Wednesday, Feb. 12, the Brown Bag Book Club will be discussing The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. All are welcome. In March, the Brown Bag Book Club will be discussing The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson.

Feb. 1-29 – Book Sale
Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25 – Storytime– Join Mrs. Savannah for Storytime from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday for songs, books, and a craft each week. This month’s themes will be as follows: Black History Month, Valentine’s Day, Mo Willems and Tell a Fairy Tale!
Feb. 12 – Brown Bag Book Club Discussion
Feb. 1-14 – Blind Date with a Book – Stop by and go on a blind date with a book! All genres are represented and this is a great and easy way to discover new genres and authors!
Feb 1-29 – Black History Month – Stop by the library and view our Black History Month Display. We have several children and adult books available for checkout!
