LIFELINE Blood Services, Jackson, is issuing an emergency need for blood. “The blood supply has reached levels that cause grave concern for our communities,” said John Miller, CEO of LIFELINE Blood Services. “We must ask that the public please donate blood as soon as possible. Without the response from our citizens, it is very likely that surgeries will be cancelled,” Miller added.
Recently, with the emergence of COVID-19, blood drives have been cancelled. This creates an extremely dangerous situation. LIFELINE officials ask that those of you who currently have a blood drive scheduled at your place of business or worship, please do not cancel.” Giving blood is a safe activity and people who present to donate blood must feel well,” Miller explained. LIFELINE Blood Services sanitizes all bloodmobiles and the fixed site location daily. “I want to repeat, giving blood is safe,” Miller said.
LIFELINE Blood Services at 183 Sterling Farms Drive is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Please give blood immediately.
If you live outside the Jackson area, you may check the website, www.lifelinebloodserv.org, to see when a bloodmobile will be in your community. To get more information about how to give blood; call 731-427-4431.
