Local qualifying now open for August election in Chester County

Petitions for the local offices for the 2020 August election opened on Monday February 20, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.
The current positions available to run for are: Henderson Mayor, three city aldermen, the Chester County property assessor and four school board member positions.
The first people to pick up a petition were Alderman Donna Butler and Mayor Bobby King who both are running for city mayor.
Others who have picked up petitions are Mike Alexander, Todd Davis, Tommy Davis and Alderman Buel Maness for city aldermen; Ben Cupples for District 3 on the Chester County School Board and Dwight Bingham for District 4; Broderick Beecham for county property assessor.
Those who anticipate running in the election need to be qualified by April 2.
The Voter Registration deadline is July 7.
