Louise Archer Cherry – April 1, 2020

Mattie Louise Archer Cherry, 95, of Piney Lake passed away at her home early Wednesday morning April 1, 2020. There will be a private family graveside service at Refuge Cemetery with Chaplin Michael Roach and Elise Cherry officiating.
She was born in McNairy County and grew up in Henderson, the daughter of the late Jesse and Grace Weaver Archer. She graduated from Chester County High School and Freed-Hardeman College and attended Belmont College.
She worked her entire career for the Internal Revenue Service Collection Center in Memphis as a supervisor in tax return processing. She had made her home at Piney Lake with her sister, Nancy Archer, for the past 35 years. She was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ in Lexington.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Edward ‘Joe’ Cherry of Piney Lake; one sister, Nancy Archer of Piney Lake; two granddaughters, Elise Cherry and Grace Paschall; and a great-granddaughter, Carson Boyce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Archer ‘Bob’ Cherry (1986); one daughter, Camise Cherry Paschall Strunk (2017); a son-in-law, Dennis ‘Denny’ Strunk; an infant brother, Ernest Archer; and two sisters, Dot Dodson and Catherine Archer.
