Mary Lee Farris Frye, 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Feb. 26, 2020.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ken Frye and Blake Carroll officiating.
Burial followed at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday.
She was born in the Montezuma community of Chester County, the daughter of the late William Lee and Lela Hall Farris.
She wed Troy Frye on Feb. 14, 1948, in Corinth, Miss. They recently celebrated their 72nd anniversary. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Janice, Ken and Keith. She was loved by many and was affectionately known as “Mama Frye.” She had an infectious smile that could light up a room as she entered, making everyone she met feel loved and special.
Never idle, she worked at Salant and Salant for 13 years. She loved seeing the children in the cafeteria at West Chester Elementary School where she worked for 11 years.  When her husband and sons opened Frye’s Carquest Auto Parts, she joined them, performing whatever task was asked of her for 13 years. Even after retirement, she worked part-time at Simmons Lumber Company for 23 years.
She never met a stranger and always encouraged everyone she met. Her friends and family played an important part in her life, and she treasured each moment spent with them. She loved gardening, cooking and riding her four-wheeler and golf cart.  She especially loved her companion of 13 years, her faithful dog, Mac.  Her faith in God was always evident in the life she led. As a loyal member of Faith Fellowship Church, she very rarely missed a service. She had a servant’s heart by always putting others needs before her own.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Troy Frye of Henderson; one daughter, Janice (Lynn) Carroll of Selmer; two sons, Ken (Annette) Frye and Keith (Rhonda) Frye of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Darren Smith, Blake (Ebony) Carroll, Emily (Jake) Henderson, Adam (Megan) Frye, Lauren (Josh) Muckelvaney, Jana (Mark) Menzie and Seth Frye; eight great-grandchildren, Chase Smith, Cason Smith, Taylor Carroll, Maddie Carroll, Tori Ann Frye, Quinn Frye, Eli Smith and Ledger Muckelvaney with one great-grandchild on the way; a great-great-grandson, Wyatt Rivers Weeden; a brother and sister (twins), Larry (Martha) Farris and Virginia (Larry) Rowland; and a host of extended family and friends.
