Maxine Lucille Lewis McNatt, 103, of Jackson passed away March 20, 2023, at Oak Haven Assisted Living, Huron. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Pastor Paul Riddle officiating. Burial followed at Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 1-3 p.m. service time on Wednesday.
She was born Jan. 21, 1920 in Henderson, the daughter of the late Gus and Lucille Foster Lewis. She grew up and attended school in Henderson. She married Ross Lee McNatt in her mid-twenties, and they made their home in Jackson.
She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Jackson. She worked for Bell South Telecommunications as operator and clerk, retiring after 44 and a half years. She then worked part-time at Big Lots in Jackson. She also was a volunteer at Jackson General Hospital for many years.
She is survived by Martha Skaggs of Oklahoma City, Okla., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ross McNatt (1969); two brothers, Joe Foster Lewis and Billy Lewis; and three sisters, Dorothy Davis, Mary Emma Rouse and Ann Beckworth.
