May 1, 2021 – Sign ups for the Chester County Library Middle School Book Club and the June Summer Reading Program Family Jeopardy Tournament. Watch for more information next week in the Chester County Independent.

May 4 – The Chester County Library will resume in person storytime. Storytime takes place at 10 a.m. every Tuesday. Virtual options will be made available on our Facebook page at
May 8 – The Word Weavers will be meeting from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the conference room of the Chester County Library. All are welcome to attend. 
May 15 – The Chester County Library will make available Summer Reading Packets. These will include reading/listening logs, schedule of events, award listing, information on the LEGO creation contest and writing contest, and ideas for getting started on reading and listening logs.
May 20 – The Chester County Library board will be meeting at the library at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 20. This meeting is open to the public. If you feel that you need to be added to the agenda, contact the library director, Savannah Gilbert, at or 731-989-4673 no later than 7 days before the date of the meeting. 
May 20 – Those who have signed up for the Middle School Book Club can pick up their first book and schedule of meetings to begin in June. 
May 27 at 3:30 p.m. – The Chester County Library will have a Summer Reading Program kickoff. The Memphis Zoo’s own Zoo Dude will be presenting a Zambezi River Hippo Adventure virtual program which will offer a behind the scenes peek at the Hippo Camp exhibit, learn about the river system and learn how the hippos can thrive in river habitats. Snacks and take-and-go crafts are available for participants of the program.
