Chester County Mayor Barry Hutcherson announced on his Facebook page last week that there are plans in the works for a 74-room hotel to be built in Henderson. The planned construction site will be between Eric Bell Drive and West Main Street.
The hotel will be developed under an economic impact plan called a “Tax Increment Financing” (TIF) program.
The project still has to go through multiple levels of approval from the developer, the Chester County Commission, the Henderson Board of Aldermen and the Industrial Development Board so most information about the project has been left confidential. Subjects such as: the scope of the project, the cost and other information still has to be discussed.
“There are lots of moving parts to this. The city is doing what it needs to be doing on this venture and I would refer any other information on this project to the developer,” said Henderson Mayor Bobby King.
