CCBOE meets tonight

The Chester County Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the school board office conference room.
In addition to delegations, updates, public comment on actionable agenda items and the spotlight/celebration portion of the meeting, the agenda includes a recommendation to approve the final drafts of the General Purpose Budgets.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, at the board of education.

City meets tonight

The City of Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the council chamber of Henderson City Hall.
The evening’s agenda includes final action on the proposed 2024-2025 City Budget and Tax Rate. The tax rate will remain the same at $0.90 per $100 of assessed value. There will be a Public Hearing on the proposed budget, and the board will consider passage of the budget and tax rate ordinance on the final reading. In addition to delegations, the board is scheduled to consider the following:

  • An ordinance on the final reading to increase all sanitation rates by approximately 5.71%. This will result in an increase of $1 per month for residential customers
  • A resolution approving the 2024-2025 Operations and Capital Expenditure Budget for the Water/Sewer Fund and the Natural Gas Fund
  • An ordinance amending the 2023-2024 (current year) budget to account for ongoing grant projects
  • An ordinance amending the text of the Henderson Municipal Zoning to allow electric substations as a use permitted on appeal in residential districts. Public hearing on the proposed amendment and consider action on the ordinance
  • A resolution approving the local match for the DRA Water Line Project grant application
  • Approval of the purchase of a new patrol unit on state contract for delivery after July 1
  • Approval of the advertising and hiring of the new patrolman position approved in the 24-25 budget.
    Other items of business include a discussion of the availability of the FirstBank North Branch property adjacent to City Hall and consideration of hiring an architect to complete specifications on replacing the metal roof, sides and gutters on the Utility Operations Building at 60 Record Dr.
