MIKE ROSS Obituary – May 28, 1955 – June 10, 2020

Michael “Mike” G. Ross, 65, of Beech Bluff died Wednesday evening, June 10, 2020 at his home. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Carroll Priddy officiating. Burial followed in Unity Cemetery at Luray. The family received friends at East Main Chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
He was born May 28, 1955 in Chester County, son of the late Coy and Gloria Faye Harvey Ross. He grew up in Chester County and was a 1973 graduate of Chester County High School.
He did factory work of various kinds, working for Chester County Sportswear, Quality Manufacturing-Shoe Last, Anvil, Sonoco and Delta Faucet. He married Betty Jo Wells on Oct. 4, 1986, and they made their home in Beech Bluff. He enjoyed woodworking crafts especially making walking canes and birdhouses. He was a clown and a prankster and loved joking around. He loved his family dearly, including his little dog, “Torkey.”
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ross of Beech Bluff; two sons, Terence Ross and Donnie Buckley, both of Henderson; three daughters, Spring (Blake) Climer, Mandy (Scott) Coats and Heather Thorpe, all of Henderson; 12 grandchildren, Hunter, Ainsley and Caleb Ross, Shelly Faye Climer, Tyler and Caden Coats, Todd Thorpe, K.C. and Hailey Muston, Lauren Moody and Kaitlyn and Braden Buckley; and three great-grandchildren, Serenity Kesler, Hadley Muston and Ramona Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Anthony Ross.
