Mike Vales, 63, of Henderson, passed from this life Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Silerton Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Rev. Charlie Carouthers officiated, and Shackelford Funeral Directors were in charge of the services.
He was born Wednesday, Feb. 29, 1956 to the late Earl Thomas Vales and Georgia Virginia Morris Vales Hatch, who survives.
A lifelong resident of the Hardeman County area, he was a bus driver for several years prior to becoming disabled. He loved collecting rocks, country music, writing music and playing the guitar.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He loved animals, especially cats, and was a member of Silerton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother; his stepfather, Jimmy Hatch of Morton, Ill.; a sister, Linda L. Dodd; a brother, Tim Vales both of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Thomas Vales who passed in 1995.
