Montez Rozzell Grant, 94, of Henderson passed away Jan. 31, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Salem Cemetery in Fulgham, Ky., with Bro. Stan Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to autismspeaks.org
She was born May 18, 1926 in Clinton, Ky., the daughter of the late Claude Walton and Eula B. Nichols Rozzell. She married James Thomas Grant, III in 1945. They made their home in Fulton, Ky., where they both worked for H.I.S. They moved to St. Louis, Mo., where she worked in a dress shop. They moved to Henderson in 1988 where their family owned and operated The Sonic Drive-In until Mr. Grant retired in 2002.
She loved gardening and flowers and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed raising her children.
She is survived by a son, Joe (Sherry) Grant of Covington; two daughters, Kathy (Nick) Nichols of Cedar Grove and Marilyn (Billy) Dieckmeyer of Henderson; one daughter-in-law, Gina of Huntingdon; eight grandchildren, Beau (Angela) Grant, Laura Anne (Lee) Wallace, James Thomas Grant, V, Joshua Brent Grant, Tabatha (Ted) Townlaine, Susie (Eddie) Pitts, Brian William (Heather) Dieckmeyer and Andrew Michael Dieckmeyer; seven great-grandchildren, Brennen (Kelsey) Nichols, Jake (Tabatha) Oliver, Kylar Peery, Jadin Peery, Amber Leimkuehler, Sara Beth Dieckmeyer; and Blake William Dieckmeyer; five great-great-grandchildren, Payton Nichols, Hadley Nichols, Beckett Nichols, Lilly Oliver and Jensen Oliver; and a sister, Lawann Speight of Fulton, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, James Thomas Grant, IV in 2015; two brothers, Clyde Allen Rozzell and Estel B. Rozzell; and one sister, Claudine Chedester.
