Nancy Ella Sikes Middleton Jackson, 83, of Henderson passed away April 20, 2020 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center. There will be a graveside service at Chapel Hill Cemetery with James McKinney, Jr. officiating.
She was born Sept. 19, 1936 in Madison County, the daughter of the late James Allen and Mary Christine Ballard Sikes. She grew up in Beech Bluff and attended school in Mifflin.
She married Jesse Middleton in 1952. She helped Jesse farm for many years. Mr. Middleton died in 1983. She worked for Salant & Salant, Iappel and also Random House Bookstore in Jackson.
She married Louis L. ‘Pete’ Jackson in 1985. He died in 1990. She had been a Christian all her life and was a member of the Pinson Church of God. She liked to read and loved her family and especially loved cooking and planning big meals for holidays.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Middleton of Henderson and Craig (Diane) Middleton of Jacks Creek; a brother, Jackie (Shirley) Sikes of Henderson; three sisters, Connie McKinney of Pinson, Phyllis Hough of Plant City, Fla., and Jolyn (James) Armstrong Huron; grandchildren, Crystal Garner, Terry Middleton, Jr., Joshua Middleton, Melissa Middleton and Roger Craig Middleton, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Katie, Alex and Garrett Middleton, Hayden Peach, William Middleton, Leanne Middleton, April, Hannah and Megan Mathis; and great-great-grandchildren, Mason Jenkins, Aiden Ragland, Camilla Jenkins, Zaden Stabaline and Axel Frye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a grandson, Shane Middleton; a great-great-grandchild, Addlyn Phelps; and five brothers, Allyn, Roy, Steve, Tim and Walter Sikes.
