Mary Nell Horton, 90, of Henderson passed away at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with George Scarbrough officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah Cemetery.
She was born in Henderson, Jan. 23, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph and Viola Green Parker. She grew up in Henderson.
She worked for Salant & Salant in Henderson and Brown Shoe factory in Selmer.
She volunteered as “school grandma” at West Chester Elementary School and enjoyed doing crafts, attending church and singing. She attended The Meeting Place.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Wendy (John) Hricsina of Las Vegas, Nev., Thomas Duck of Henderson and Daniel Weatherington of Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Chandler Hricsina, Thomas Duck, Cynthia Duck and Shiloh Weathington; and two great-great grandchildren, Christian and Xavier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Veronica Paschall; four brothers, Sam Parker, James Parker, Delby Parker and Shelby Parker; and two sisters, Catherine Parker and Lydia Parker.
