This school year is FLYING by. After spring break, there will only be NINE school days before TCAP testing begins. Please make sure your child is at all of them!
Spring Break always makes me think of new beginnings: flowers blooming, green grass and lots of sunshine. Because of those, it is also the time of year when students have “spring fever” – the struggle is real! Even though daylight lasts longer, please keep your child on a routine. This helps the teachers with focus and behavior during the school day. With so few days for test prep, we need all focus on us and learning. We all thank you.
Do not forget that you will need to go online and register your child for the next school year. We have close to 100 that have completed the process. This is a requirement for all students who will be attending Chester County Schools. If you need assistance, please call the school office at 989-8110.
IN THE CLASSROOM – Texts and skills this week…
Both grades have begun TCAP Review in all subjects.
Fifth grade ELA: Explanatory and Opinion Writing
Fourth grade ELA: Finishing “Hatchet”; Math: Review; Science: interpreting maps; Social Studies: Civil War
Activity Classes:
Academic Lab – Students will learn about Ireland and the origins of St. Patrick’s Day.
Computer – Students will brush up on their typing skills with a fun typing activity!
Library – Students will learn about the Readathon. The Readathon will begin after spring break.
Music – March is National Music in Our Schools Month. This year’s theme is Music Is All of Us. Students will wrap up this theme and learn more about instrument families.

Students return: Tuesday, April 4.
Friday, April 7: Good Friday (NO SCHOOL)
