Merry Christmas from the students, faculty and staff from Chester County Middle School! December has been filled with lots of learning and fun activities. PTS gifted the students with candy canes and gloves for a December treat. They loved it and several switched out one color with a friend. PTS also hosted a holiday lunch for the faculty and staff. It was delicious thank you to all that are a part of our school PTS organization. Students even had a visit from the Grinch!
The Scholastic Book fair ended this past week. The students were able to purchase items during their library time. Thank you for allowing your children to purchase books. This allows Mrs. Karen to purchase things for the library for all of the students to enjoy.
Students have worked very hard and completed the second Benchmark test for this semester. Teachers will be studying the data and making plans to enrich each student and their learning levels.
Perfect attendance rewards for the month of December will be given on Jan. 4. There will also be rewards for perfect attendance for the whole first semester. Students will receive a token and be able to purchase a book from the book machine.
Starting in January, CCMS will add Mrs. Janet Sain and Mr. Marcus Montgomery to our faculty. They will be having music classes for all the students. Students will be able to attend once a week.
We would also like to welcome Mrs. Beverly Weatherington to our faculty as a fifth grade ELA and Social Studies teacher. Mrs. Weatherington is a graduate of Chester County High School and has taught in California, Texas and currently Kentucky. She is ready to return to her roots in good ole Chester County. She will be replacing Ms. Stephanie Mitchell. Ms. Stephaine will be moving to Medina, getting married in February and beginning a new job at South Gibson Elementary. We want to wish Ms. Stephanie the best and hope she will come back and visit.
Lunch money letters have been sent home to those that owe lunch money. Please take care of balances as soon as possible. If you filled out a free lunch form and have questions about the results or if you need to fill one out please let us know and we can send one home or there is a digital form online on the chestercountyschools.org website.
Students will return on Jan. 4 from the holiday break to begin the second semester. Report cards will come home on Jan. 13.
