There are so many wonderful things happening at East Chester! Please make plans to attend Parent Involvement night on March 10. It will be a Dr. Seuss themed evening of family fun!
At East Chester, kindergarten was all about Dr. Seuss last week! They measured and worked on adding fluency for math. They worked on various decoding skills like bossy r, sneaky e and vowel teams in reading. They finished up informational writing and began narrative writing, as well as studying story elements, such as character, setting, plot, etc.
First graders at East participated in Dr. Seuss activities last week as well! They learned two-digit addition with and without regrouping. First graders also studied Tennessee state symbols, history and geography.
East Chester second graders learned about the Western Expansion. Last week, they learned about the Pony Express and about the railroads. They are looking forward to our Parent Involvement Night Tuesday, March 10. They studied money and measurement in math. They also finished up our nature life cycle unit and start the unit on Interdependence this week.
Third graders at East Chester are working hard. CASE testing begins this week! Please make sure your third grader is at school every day that s/he is not sick! Please take time to ensure that your third grader is well rested, eats a good breakfast and is ready to do his/her best on these very important tests! Remember that, as long as students are at school early enough to eat, all students can have a free, nutritious breakfast in the cafeteria every day!
