The last full week of school for the month of March was a busy one at East Chester Elementary!
Kindergarten studied the farm and all of the products we get from the farm. They also worked on r-controlled vowels in reading. They worked hard on addition fluency in math. Teachers tested all students on all third nine weeks’ skills for report cards this week.
First graders at East Chester worked very hard each day! They learned more about the state of Tennessee! They took trips back in time while they learned about the early world and early American civilizations! First graders developed addition and subtraction skills that will allow them to add and subtract within 100! East Chester first graders are becoming more independent readers and writers, too! It is a great time to be a first grader at East Chester Elementary!
Second graders finished up their Western Expansion unit with the great Buffalo Hunters. They also wrote an alternate ending to their story. They continued working on common and proper nouns and identifying adjectives and verbs. Students also estimated and used tools to measure the length and height of objects to the nearest inch, foot and yard.
Third grade students learned about the human body. They also worked hard learning to tell time and find perimeter. Third graders completed all final CASE tests.
We are looking forward to enjoying Spring Break! Be on the lookout for report cards. They will be sent home March 29. As always, we are proud of all of our East Chester students, parents, faculty, staff and leaders! East Chester is a wonderful place to be!
