It was a fantastic week after Thanksgiving! We learned a lot at Jacks Creek Elementary School!
Kindergarten finished up their second nine weeks skills. We are so proud of the growth that the children are showing. They are getting ready for the Christmas program and for singing at the nursing home. Please remember to check your child’s folder every night. We are sending home lots of important notes.
First graders worked hard learning about writing a narrative. They learned that the three steps to writing is 1. Plan, 2. Draft and 3. Edit. They also had fun writing a letter to Santa. They each asked Santa for three things and told him what good boys and girls they have been this year.
Students worked hard on i-Ready test to show what they have learned in the first half of the school year. We are so proud of how far they have come since the first day of school. We hope to see you all at our Christmas program on Dec. 20.
It was so nice to see our sweet third graders! We missed you all. Ms. Nancy even got a new student! In reading, students continued to read the novel, Peter Pan. In math, they continued to learn about area. Parents, please continue to practice multiplication facts at home. Some ideas are flash cards, timed quizzes, race against your child and multiplication games online. Make it fun.
Our Farmer of the Week goes to Tony Lee, whose favorite books are books about Power Rangers and whose favorite food is Pizza. We are proud to have this student shine brightly at our school! Our Staff Farmer of the Week goes to the magnificent Rachel Morris! Her favorite book is the Bible, and her favorite food is Mexican food. We appreciate all that she does for our school as one of our Kindergarten grade teachers.
Please collect Box Tops! Each Box Top equals 10 cents for our school.
This is an EASY way for us to earn money for JCES! Our goal is to raise $700. Everyone can help us reach this goal!
