At Jacks Creek Elementary, we are having our PSO membership drive. We would like to encourage others to participate and help our school. Picture day will be on Aug. 18, so wear your beautiful smile!
This week’s beekeepers of the week are Jolissa Ortega and Alaina Clayton. Jolissa Ortega’s favorite food is burgers. Her favorite book is Spongebob, and her birthday is Jan. 20. Alaina Clayton’s favorite food is Chinese food. Her favorite book is Dr. Seuss, and her birthday is Aug. 17.
Kindergarteners are off to a great start. We have been practicing our rules and routines and learning color words. We have done some counting and listened to some great stories! We are learning to participate in classroom activities and writing our names, too!
Our boys and girls are continuing to settle into first grade. They are working hard to learn classroom procedures and rules. They have been continuing to review the alphabet, letter names and letter sounds. The boys and girls have had fun playing Back to School Bingo and ABC Bingo. They have also been continuing to review numbers, number words and counting and writing to 100. Our first graders have also been excited about beginning our math series. They have started out working on basic addition!
We have enjoyed our second week of second grade! We have made new friends and have had a great time getting to know each other even better. We look forward to upcoming events and all the knowledge we will gain in second grade. Thank you to everyone that came to our open house!
We are on a roll in third grade. We have been working hard on rules and procedures. In reading we have completed reading the novel “Third Grade Angels.” We are starting our curriculum CKLA with classic tales that we know and love. In math we are strengthening our addition and subtraction. We will assess this skill next week.
