MERRY CHRISTMAS! HO HO HO! I hope Santa is coming to your house loaded with gifts, but stop and think about the real reason for our celebration of Christmas. Jesus was born in a manger. He came to earth to live and die for our sins. What a wonderful God we serve.
Our birthdays this week are Katilyn Henson on Dec. 18; Ailiene Harris Cain, Chris Julian and Marie Enfinger on Dec. 19; Joliene Harris and Janice Julian on Dec. 20; and Travis Roberts on Dec. 23.
These community neighbors and friends need our prayers: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Carolyn Brasfield, Jim Ruth, Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, Woodie Deming, Betty Quarles, Ms. June Davis, Johnny Roach and his son Johnny Jr. This time of the year always brings out the best in people. I wish it could be Christmas every day. Please reach out to our shut-ins and nursing home folks.
Also, remember our military, our law enforcement and first responders, and do not forget the ones that have lost loved ones. “Carry each other’s burdens and in this way will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatlians 6:2
Our sincere condolences to the family of Jerry Howell. Loretta, children and grandchildren, you are loved, and there are so many prayers going up for you at this sad time. At this difficult time in your life, we pray that God will grant you the peace that you need to get through this. May God bless you through the next days, weeks and months. He is our Comforter!
I recently read a blog post from Jemully’s Newsletter that included a list of people’s favorite Christmas stories/movies. They included several – from It’s a Wonderful Life to The Muppet Christmas Carol. You can read the full blog post at https://jemully.com/favorite-christmas-stories-holiday-quotes.
What is your favorite Christmas story? Do you have a movie that you watch all December long, or is there a special one you save for Christmas Day?
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
