I hope everyone had a better Easter than we did. Orban and I were both sick. I sure hated missing church especially on Easter, and we were to have dinner to celebrate Easter and Mitchell’s 20th birthday, but we will have it soon.
Happy birthday wishes this week go to Lucas Long on April 17 and Danny Hopper on April 18. Wishing you both a very nice birthday!
Send prayers please for Woodie Deming, Kirsten Jones and Joyce Stewart and Pat Rose.
Also, pray for our first responders and law enforcement, fire departments across our county.
Our devotion: “Christ the lord is risen today! That means we are free from death and the powers of hell. But we don’t always act that way, do we? Imagine what the world would be like if Christians used that freedom to serve one another. And what if, through this service, we could express who God is—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—to those who don’t know Him? This isn’t just a nice thought. It’s the calling on the life of each believer.
“God created us in His image as relational beings, and this is true whether we have already found salvation in Christ or are still on that journey. But truly serving God through service to others happens only after a person has been liberated by His forgiveness and grace.
“In Galatians, Paul reminds us that we are called to freedom. He continues by cautioning us not to use our liberty as an opportunity to indulge the flesh but instead encourages us to serve one another through love (Galatians 5:13). What does it look like to set aside our own desires and pleasures, serving enthusiastically out of love for Jesus and gratitude for all He has done?
“This week, look for opportunities to serve. It doesn’t have to be grand—God can multiply small efforts for His purpose.”
God bless each of you! Keep smiling and visit a shut-in this week. My number is 879-9777 to report any news.
