Hello from Deanburg! I hope you all had a great week.
These community neighbors and friends need our prayers: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Carolyn Brasfield, Jim Ruth, Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, Woodie Deming, Betty Quarles, Ms. June Davis, Johnny Roach and his son Johnny, Jr. Please reach out to our shut-ins and nursing home folks. Also, remember our military, our law enforcement and first responders, and do not forget the ones that have lost loved ones. Galatlians 6:2 – “Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Our sincere condolences to the Joy Newman Oliver family. So sorry for the loss of this special lady. She and Joyce graduated from high school in 1962 when I was finishing ninth grade. I have always loved them. So friendly and always smiling. I know everyone has.
Please remember Kobe Bryant and his daughter’s family. He left his wife and three children.
Our community club meeting will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 4. I hope we can have more members and attendees this year. New folks to our community are encouraged to join us every first Tuesday of the month. Refreshments served. Remember our community club building located at 385 Deanburg Rd. off Hwy. 100 west of Chickasaw for your special events. We have a very nice large building and have a furnished kitchen with nice comfortable chairs and tables as well as a pavilion outside and play ground for children. Call Judy Loftis to schedule. Her number is 989-5823.
I have been doing Deanburg news for 12 years and would like to give someone else a chance to write it. I think my news has gone stale. With no one giving me any news to share, it is hard to come up with an article, so call me if you would like to do it. Think about it before our meeting Tuesday.
Happy birthday to Mary Jane Harris on Feb. 2 and Joe Gilchrist on Feb. 4. Happy birthday to Dee Stewart in Heaven this year! I think he would have been 102 on Feb. 2. Bethel misses you, Dee. Hope your birthday is great!
Our devotion: “I am a spiritual being. After this body is dead, my spirit will soar. I refuse to let what will rot, rule the eternal. I choose self-control. I will be drunk only by joy. I will be impassioned only by my faith. I will be influenced only by God. I will be taught only by Christ. I will choose self-control.” by Max Lucado, “When God Whispers Your Name.”
May you have a blessed week and keep smiling! Call 879-9777 with news.
