Greetings once again from Deanburg! I hope everyone had a good week. We have sure had some pretty spring weather and flowers.
Please continue to pray for our neighbors and friends in our community and other communities: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Carolyn Brasfield, Jim Ruth, Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, Woodie Deming, Betty Quarles, Ms. June Davis, and my cousin Barbara Sue Mitchell.
Birthday wishes to Anita Fish on May 24 and Lavern Lynch on May 25 along with Kristen Mays. Hope you all have a blessed, joyous day!
Our sincere condolences and prayers go to all the families of the ones that were killed in the horrific accident Saturday. They were Kaylee Daniel, Roselyn Roberts, Cayla Lenon and Tyler Stablein. Chester County always steps up, and they have some places taking donations. Kristen Daniel is in Memphis and has undergone several surgeries. Please pray that she will come out of this okay. My heart breaks for these families. I know what it is to lose a child. It is the worst thing you can go through. I do not care how old they are. They are your babies.
Our devotion this week is from Shared Encouragement, Inspiration for a Woman’s Soul, Circle of Friend’s Ministries Connected in Faith – “The Promise of Joy” – “‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.’ Psalm 30:5. Have you experienced suffering? Perhaps you are hurting even now. Tough times are a reality for all of us. The Psalmist David was well acquainted with hardship. He used phrases such as ‘the depths,’ ‘the pit,’ and even ‘the grave’ to describe them. Although he was known as a man after God’s own heart, at times David was pursued by his enemies and forced to run for his life. He also lived with the consequences of committing murder and adultery, even long after receiving God’s forgiveness. God is faithful, and suffering is temporary. This is a promise we can claim as David did, facing difficulty or depression.
David experiences God’s faithfulness throughout the ups and downs of his life. King Solomon, one of the wisest men who ever lived, concludes in the third chapter of Ecclesiastes that there is a time for everything, including ‘a time to weep and a time to laugh.’ (V. 4 NIV). Some trials are short lived. Others are more complex. As believers, we can find joy in the Lord even as certain trials remain a backdrop in our lives. All suffering will end one day when we meet Jesus. The Bible assures us that in Heaven there will be no tears. Our loving heavenly Father has not forgotten you. You may feel that relief will never come, but take courage. It will.” – Emily Biggers
May you find peace if God’s promises! Praying for you this week, especially ones that have lost loved ones. I also pray that the deaths of those wonderful people will be a calling for the lost to seek God and be saved. You can see how fast a life can be taken.
