Greeting from Deanburg! To my followers,  I am sorry I missed getting the news in last week.
Birthdays last week were Lucas Long on April 17, Danny Hopper on April 18 and Eric Landers and Justin Howell on April 19. I hope you all had a great day!
This week, we have Ken Price on April 22, Kayley Hopper on April 23 and Sky Julian and Bill Loftis on April 25. If you see these folks this week, wish them a happy birthday!
Please  continue prayers for these folks: Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Jim Ruth, Bobby and Judy Ruth, Woodie  Deming, Joyce Stewart and Samantha Mosier. Please remember those that have lost loved  ones. There have been so many! If you know anyone that needs prayer, call me or text me. Also, keep our law enforcement, all first responders and our military in your prayers as well as our dear country.
The community center is hosting a surprise birthday drop by celebration for Anita  Fish from 1-3 p.m. on May 22. This is a surprise so DO NOT tell Ms. Anita.
Pleasant Springs United Methodist Church will celebrate Mother’s Day/Homecoming on May 9. Pleasant Springs became a church in the late 1880s. Since there were no gravel or black top roads, there were few church services during the rainy and cold months, so by agreement of the church congregation, their all day homecoming for each year would be the second Sunday of May. For that one day each year, the families came in wagons, walked or rode horses to church. Everyone brought food and spent the day in worship and fellowship! A morning service and afternoon service were provided. Homecoming at Pleasant Springs Church will be celebrated for the 140th time this year, missing only one year last year due to COVID. As many of you know, Mother’s Day is also celebrated on the second Sunday in May, as it has been since 1914 when the President of the United States signed to officially name the second Sunday in May Mother’s Day, so please join us in our Homecoming and Mother’s Day this year on Sunday, May 9. Church services will begin at 11 a.m. with dinner to be shared on the church grounds/fellowship hall. We look forward to seeing you at Pleasant Springs Methodist Church.
Our devotion: Scoffers Will Come – “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. (NLT) (2 Peter 3:3) Days will come when we hear, read, or see scoffers who mock our beliefs. Hold firmly to your faith. Everyone will meet the Lord and account for their actions. You can stand firm in knowing your faith is stronger than the words of a cynic. Have you strengthened and grown your faith to withstand the pressures from nonbelievers?” Download this app to get your daily devotions http://www.jctrois.com/dailybibledevotion
Take time this week to read your Bibles and pray. Prayer is very powerful. God bless each of you. My number is 731-879-9777.
