Hello from Enville!
I hope everyone had a great week! This last weekend’s weather was gorgeous – a little windy, but so warm. We watched our granddaughter, Reece, play ball in Corinth on Saturday. We actually got a little sunburned. Danny and I had a great weekend. Just getting away is always good for the body and soul, even if it is not very far away!
The Enville Community Club meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5; we will have guest speakers John Bowers from Pickwick Electric and Billy Gordon from Southwest Electric. They will be discussing getting Aeneas high speed in our area. Southwest customers have this already, and we would love to have it in Enville. If anyone in the Enville area is interested, please bring a covered dish and attend this meeting to show your interest and support.
Mother’s Day is coming up very soon. I know where you can get your Sunday meal and desserts, so mom does not have to cook on her special day. The Enville Volunteer Fire Department is having their annual barbeque on Saturday, May 7, beginning at 10 am beside the City Hall. They will have barbeque pork, chicken, bologna and drinks. You can purchase by the sandwich or by the pound. Also, the Enville Community Center Committee will have a bake sale inside the City Hall; there will be some delicious desserts to pick from. Donations of cakes, pies and any other desserts will be appreciated. Come out and support your fire department and town!
Decoration Days have begun. The first Sunday in May is O’Neal Cemetery, Roby, Grove Springs, Mt. Zion, Beech Springs and Center Hill cemeteries. Please support the cemeteries of your loved ones for the mowing and upkeep.
Happy birthday wishes go to D.B. Weatherington and Emile Holder on April 30, Lucy Ashbrook on May 4 and Agnes Tenry Smith on May 5. Happy Anniversary to Harry and Connie Timmer on May 1 and J.P. and Easton Knight on May 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family Casey Pratt and continue prayers for Deb Finley, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Greyson Reynolds, Inez Cash, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Florence Stublaski, Mikki Patterson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Roger and Sue Henson, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Robert and Linda Johnson, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Della Mixon, Larry Lambert, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, all students who are testing in school and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone.
