Hello from Enville!
I hope everyone enjoyed their week! The weather has been beautiful with lots of sunshine. I hope it continues for all the decorations still to come.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May; it is on May 8 this year. The modern American version of the holiday began in the United States in the early 20th century at the initiative of Anna Jarvis (en.m.wikipedia.org). I truly hope you get to spend the day with your mom if you still have her, (we miss mine and Danny’s mom so much). If you can not spend the day with her, a call or card would be nice.
Speaking of Mother’s Day, come to Enville on Saturday, May 7, to get lunch and desserts for Sunday, so mom does not have to cook on her special day. She deserves a day off from the kitchen! The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will be serving up some barbeque pork, chicken and bologna. The community center ladies will have a bake sale with lots of delicious desserts. These will begin at 10 a.m. at the Enville City Hall. We hope to see you all there!
Decoration Day for the second Sunday in May in our area will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Enville, Milledgeville, Sweetlips and Finger. Please support your cemeteries for the upkeep and mowing.
Graduations in Chester County and surrounding areas are fast approaching, and schools will be out for the summer very soon. Junior/Senior Proms were held on Saturday night. There were some very beautiful ladies and handsome guys for us to enjoy on Facebook.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Beverly Weatherington and Tarecia Shelton on May 7 and Pete Ramey on May 9. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please remember in prayers Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Inez Cash, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Agnes Smith, Deb Finley, Greyson Reynolds, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Florence Stublaski, Mikki Patterson, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Roger and Sue Henson, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Larry Lambert, Robert and Linda Johnson, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military and schools and, as always, each other.
